Mining the hard parts for truth and beauty.

About Me

I’m a Best American essayist and Pushcart Prize-nominated poet. My work most often explores family in its many iterations, the craft of writing, and transplantation to a rural farming community. I frequently contribute to magazines and anthologies, including Best American Essays, The New York Times, HuffPost, New Letters, Under the Sun, Brevity, Journal of the American Medical Association, Image, and Literary Mama, among others.

When I’m not writing or hiking, you can find me in the garden of my 200-year-old farmhouse in the Finger Lakes, surrounded by an array of opinionated animals.
